LAX pickup guide: terminals, cell phone lot and wait times

Everything you need to be in the car within minutes of clearing baggage claim at Los Angeles International: which curb your chauffeur uses at each terminal, why a pre-arranged car service never sends you to LAX-it, how the cell phone waiting lot keeps the vehicle two minutes away, and exactly how much free wait time you get after your flight lands.

The three ways to be picked up at LAX

Arrivals curb (standard)

You text when you have your bags, walk out the arrivals-level doors, and the chauffeur pulls to your pillar. Fastest option, included in every quote.

Meet & greet inside ($25)

Chauffeur parks in the terminal garage and waits in baggage claim with a name sign, then carries luggage to the car. Best for international arrivals and first-time visitors.

Departures-level pickup

When the arrivals horseshoe is gridlocked, we can meet you one level up at departures. Ask dispatch and we coordinate the door before you land.

Terminal by terminal at LAX

All chauffeured pickups happen on the arrivals (lower) level of the LAX horseshoe. Confirm the terminal on your boarding pass — airlines occasionally reassign arrival gates, and we track the change with your flight number either way.

TerminalMain airlinesPickup notes
Terminal 1Southwest, FrontierArrivals level curb, outer island. Southwest baggage claim exits put you close to the west end of the terminal.
Terminal 2Delta, Aeroméxico, WestJetArrivals level curb. Delta's connected T2/T3 walkway means your chauffeur may stage at whichever door is closer.
Terminal 3DeltaArrivals level curb. Wide pickup frontage; give the chauffeur your door number when you exit.
TBIT (Terminal B)International carriersArrivals level curb after customs. International arrivals include 60 minutes of free wait time — customs and bag reclaim vary widely.
Terminal 4AmericanArrivals level curb; T4 connects to TBIT airside. Confirm the terminal your bags arrive at, not just your airline.
Terminal 5American, Alaska (some)Arrivals level curb, busiest island in the horseshoe. Walking a few doors east often speeds up the pickup.
Terminal 6Alaska, Air Canada, JetBlueArrivals level curb. Convenient for the 96th Street exit toward the 405 and 105.
Terminal 7 / 8UnitedArrivals level curb at the east end. Terminal 8 baggage claim exits are steps from the T7 pickup zone.

How the LAX cell phone lot works

  • Free waiting lot on West 96th Street near Sepulveda, minutes from every terminal.
  • Your chauffeur stages there (or in the terminal garage for meet & greet) while tracking your flight.
  • Drivers may only wait with the vehicle attended — so we move on your text, not on a guess.
  • Result: no circling the horseshoe, no missed connections at the curb, no idle-time surprises.

Wait time, in plain numbers

  • Domestic arrivals: 30 minutes free, from actual touchdown.
  • International arrivals (TBIT): 60 minutes free, covering customs and bag reclaim.
  • After the free window: $1.00 per minute, reviewed and applied by a dispatcher — never billed automatically.
  • Delays and early landings: pickup time shifts with the tracked flight at no charge.

Common LAX pickup questions

Where do car services pick you up at LAX?
On the arrivals (lower) level curb directly outside your terminal. Once you have your bags and step outside, your chauffeur pulls up at the nearest pillar and texts the vehicle color, make and plate. Private chauffeured car services are permitted on the arrivals curb — unlike app rideshare, you do not walk to LAX-it.
Do I have to use LAX-it for a chauffeured car service?
No. LAX-it is the shuttle-served lot for Uber, Lyft and taxis. Pre-arranged, TCP-licensed chauffeured services like ours pick up at the arrivals curb outside your terminal, or inside baggage claim with meet & greet, so you skip the LAX-it shuttle and the queue entirely.
What is the LAX cell phone lot and does my chauffeur wait there?
The LAX cell phone waiting lot (on West 96th Street, near Sepulveda) is free short-term staging where drivers wait until their passenger is curbside. Your chauffeur stages there or in the terminal garage while tracking your flight, then pulls to the curb once you text or call that you have your bags — so no one circles the horseshoe.
How much free wait time do I get after landing at LAX?
Domestic arrivals include 30 minutes of free wait time measured from actual touchdown, and international arrivals at TBIT include 60 minutes to cover customs and baggage. After the included window, wait time bills at $1.00 per minute, and only a dispatcher or admin can apply it — never automatically.
What happens if my flight is delayed or lands early?
We track your flight number on every airport reservation and shift the pickup time to the actual landing time automatically, at no charge. You do not need to call or rebook for a delay, a diversion of arrival terminal, or an early landing.
How does meet & greet inside the terminal work?
Add meet & greet ($25) and your chauffeur parks in the terminal garage and waits inside baggage claim holding a name sign, then walks you and your luggage to the vehicle. It is the easiest option for international arrivals, first-time visitors, families, and unaccompanied minors or seniors.
How do I find my chauffeur at the curb?
You receive a text with the chauffeur's first name, the vehicle make, model, color and license plate, plus a live tracking link once they are on the way. Text the pillar or door number you are standing at and they pull directly to you.
How early should I schedule the pickup for a departing LAX flight?
For domestic departures, plan to be curbside 2 hours before takeoff; for international, 3 hours. Working backward from that, we set the pickup based on your actual address and live traffic — LAX runs 30 to 90 minutes from most of the Westside and Downtown depending on the hour.
Can you pick up multiple passengers arriving on different flights?
Yes. We track each flight separately and can either hold one vehicle for the group or dispatch separate vehicles. Sprinter vans handle larger parties and luggage-heavy arrivals; note the flight numbers and luggage counts on the reservation.
Is there a charge for the LAX terminal fee or parking?
Airport fees and, when meet & greet is selected, terminal garage parking are included in the quoted rate. Your flat rate is what you are shown before booking; the only additions are ones you request, like extra stops or gratuity.
